Kevin,

Let me begin by saying how very pleased we all were with the tours and
interactions and talks on the itinerary you put together for us. From start
to finish, it was a great day.

As always, a demonstration of cassava bread making and descriptions of both older and newer ways of making this traditional Kalinago food was a hit. Daniel was very open to all of our questions and drew in the students to get them involved in preparing and baking (and eating!) the bread.

Patrice was very good at keeping us on schedule without pressuring anyone to hurry. Our stop at the church and his brief presentation went very well. The students could view the interior of the church fairly well from outside through the openings in the walls.

Time spent with Mr. Robinson Darroux and the Kalinago Dancers was definitely the highlight of the day. Everyone was very welcoming and the atmosphere was intimate and relaxed. Most of the students felt very comfortable in joining in with the dancing at the end and the lunch was, as always, delicious and plentiful. Hearing from Councilor Frederick was also very informative, and although I know we must have pulled him away from some important work, he was very gracious in giving us ample time to ask questions and speak to him after his presentation.

Our stop at Les Calier Tete Chien (a first for me after 3 visits to the
Territory) was also spectacular. I will make a note for myself to make sure
I tell students that there is a little hiking, and they should bring
appropriate shoes. It was not a problem for this group, but I misled them a
bit when I told them we wouldn't be doing any hiking. I'll probably also
pack a little extra drinking water!

Wrapping up at the Cultural Interpretation center was the perfect end to the
day, and we left with some great souvenir art.

Patrice was absolutely fantastic as our guide for the day. I remember him
from a few years ago, and I feel like he has really done well developing his
guiding skills. Please tell him again how much we enjoyed our time with him.

Thank you again. It was a great day. We are all looking forward to
working with you again next year if all goes according to plan with our
programs.
